20’s IN THE PEWS: The total collected in July was £171.63. This year monies will go to The Beatson Cancer Charity. This Charity has been established fairly recently and provides support services for patients and families involved with the Beatson.
LIFE & WORK: Pre-ordered copies of the August edition are available for uplifting at the main door of the Church. There are extra copies available at both doors priced £2.00.
WELCOME BBQ: Our hospitality Committee has organised a BBQ to welcome our new Assistant Graeme, his wife Wendy and his children on Sunday 23rd August from 3pm – 5pm in the garden of 7 Bellevale Avenue. Tickets priced £5 will be on sale today after both Services – children free. Mancini’s Ice cream cart will also be there!
FOOD BANK: requested this week – UHT Milk, small bags of sugar, diluting juice, tinned vegetables and main meals.
HEARTSTART: the next training session for duty team members who have registered will be on Monday 24 August at 7.30 in the Struthers Room. Loose clothing recommended!
THE BACK TO SCHOOL BANK are looking for donations of school uniforms to enable disadvantaged young people, suffering as a result of poverty, to return to school. Full details of the project are on the notice board. If you are able to help with this excellent initiative we will have a box for donations in the Carrick Park vestibule or you can use the collection points in Morrison’s and Shooze with Sole.
CHURCH VISITING CARDS are available on the table in the Carrick Park Vestibule. Please take one if you are going off on holiday and leave at any church where you are worshipping.
HOSPICE LADIES LUNCH CLUB- Jean Stewart wishes to thank all members of the congregation and friends who are supporting this event. Thursday 20th August arriving at 1.00pm. Afternoon Tea at 2.00pm
LOCHSIDE: There will be a meeting taking place on Monday 17th August at 7pm in the Carrick Room for all the volunteers for HisKids and the holiday clubs at Lochside, to plan the year ahead. We are also seeking to start a group for the early secondary school age group as some of our young people move to the academy, and we are looking for volunteers to help start up this new venture. If you would be interested in helping at HisKids on a Monday night or the new older group on a night to be decided, or wish to find out more about the work with the children and young people of Lochside, then please come along to the meeting or contact Stuart on 07724 858001 or stuartmckinlay@aol.com
