AYR ST COLUMBA
MARCH 2020 PRAYER CALENDAR
Daniel got down on his knees three times a day to pray to his God and praise Him…. (Dan.6 verse 10)
Sunday 22 March
This is Mothering Sunday! Pray for mothers, grandmothers and aunts everywhere, giving thanks for their care, love and wisdom and their important roles in helping the next generation.
Monday 23 March
Remember all who have been bereaved in recent months and those who minister to them.
Tuesday 24 March
Pray that as the country goes into lockdown we will all heed and act on the latest restrictions with good grace and in the interests of all. Likewise, that people will stop panic buying and be sensible, always with thought for others.
Wednesday 25 March
Pray for all who are on their own during this lockdown time. Help those of us who can to keep in touch with them by phone, email or even a letter to assure them that they’re not forgotten.
Thursday 26 March
Today let us remember all those who are in the front line of medical care in our hospitals, GP practices, ambulance services and others: that they will be given strength to cope with the many demands being made on them at this time.
Friday 27 March
Our governments and leaders are under huge pressures too. Pray that they will be guided aright and make wise and timely decisions.
Saturday 28 March
Ask God to take our current worries and concerns and remind us that He has promised never to leave us or forsake us.
Sunday 29 March
Many congregations will be livestreaming worship this morning or posting sermons and prayers on line, like our own minister. Pray that they will be given words to uplift, comfort and help us all.
Monday 30 March
The Mission Committee of Presbytery launched in February a 40 day Prayer Initiative to “encourage prayer on the kind of topics of which everyone should take account…” Pray that this will be supported by our congregations in the Presbytery and give thanks that we have already started to help strengthen the prayer life of our own congregations here in St Columba and Lochside.
Tuesday 31 March
“Prayer changes things…” Let’s redouble our efforts in prayer at this time.
