20’s IN THE PEWS: The total collected in January was £55.36. This year monies will go to The Beatson Cancer Charity. This Charity has been established fairly recently and provides support services for patients and families involved with the Beatson.
LIFE & WORK: Pre-ordered copies of the February edition are available for uplifting at the main door of the Church. There are extra copies available at both doors priced £2.00.
FOOD BANK: The food requested is determined by demand. Always needed are: long life milk, diluting juice, jam, small packets pasta, noodles and rice, small packets sugar, tins of fruit, packet custard and instant mash.
WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON BIBLE STUDY will meet on 11th February at 2.00pm in the Carrick Room. All very welcome
AN SOS: we are desperate for helpers for our Primary Sunday School, our Bible Class and our Guides! It doesn’t matter how old you are – we just need willingness to work with children and young people! Please speak to the Minister or Irene. This is URGENT!!
ELDERS’ VISITS to ORGANISATIONS: the list of visits is available in the Glass cabinet in the Carrick Park vestibule – please check if you are required to make a visit this year. Spare copies of the list are available from the office.
MONDAY CLUB: The committee hope to have a good attendance tomorrow evening, 9th February. Our speaker will be Mrs Merle Smith who is herself visually impaired, she will tell us of the work of the charity which assists South Ayrshire Visually Impaired Children. This is one of our nominated charities in the current session.
THE MEN’S ASSOCIATION: Tomorrow evening the 9th of February our own Walter Muir will enlighten us on the development of “A short history of the development of employment law in the UK.” Members are reminded that the end of session lunch is being held in the Carrick Lodge Hotel on Wednesday 25th March and the secretary will be delighted to take names.
FUND RAISING SKY DIVE: one of our young folk , Jenny Hunter, is Sky diving for Diabetes UK, The Stroke Association and Alzheimer Scotland. There are sponsor sheets in the Carrick Park vestibule – if you feel able your support would be very much appreciated.
KNITTING: the office was delighted to receive a bag of beautifully knitted children’s Aran sweaters (in double moss and bramble patterns –we are reliably informed!) – Jean Stewart has taken them to the Lunch Club for the sales table. Monies raised will be donated to one of the charities. This was a very generous gift. We are so grateful to all our ladies who knit for Crosshouse neo-natal unit and for the Fish and Chip babies. We hope to have an update on these projects soon.

Our warmest thoughts and prayers are extended to Mr Tom McCrorie and the family of Wilson Street, Ayr, on the death of his wife, Pat, aged 66. The funeral service will take place tomorrow, Monday, at 3.30 at Masonhill Crematorium.
