20’s IN THE PEWS: The total collected in January was £55.36. This year monies will go to The Beatson Cancer Charity. This Charity has been established fairly recently and provides support services for patients and families involved with the Beatson.
THE ANNUAL BUSINESS meeting for the Congregation will be held in the Church on Thursday 19th March at 7.30pm, followed by tea in the Struthers’ Room. Copies of the ACCOUNTS & BUDGET are available as you leave the Church today.
LIFE & WORK: Pre-ordered copies of the March edition are available for uplifting at the main door of the Church. There are extra copies available at both doors priced £2.00.
FOOD BANK: Most needed this week are packets of spaghetti, jars of jam, coffee and packets instant mash potato. Always needed and gratefully received – packets of noodles, tins of vegetables, tins of fruit, and bags of ’80’s tea bags.
WEDNESDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY will be on 4th March 2015 at 7.30pm in the Struthers Room. This is the season of Lent and one of the things we will be looking at is Jesus’ involvement in politics and the global significance of why Jesus wept? (Luke 19:18-44; 18:45-48; Matthew 21:18-22)
HALL LETS MEETING: notice is given of the Hall Let meeting for 2015/16 – this will be held on Wednesday 11th March at 7.00pm in the Struthers’ Room. Lets will be allocated on a first come first served basis … please make sure your Group is represented.
DEFIBRILLATOR TRAINING: If you have signed up to undergo the Defibrillator Training are reminded that the training will be held on Tuesday 3 March at 7.30pm in the Midton Road Hall.
THE GUILD: Our meeting on Monday 2nd March is at 2.00pm and is our annual Daffodil Tea. We will, for the second time hear the musical talents of “SMT”, Sheila, Mary and Tom, whom we so enjoyed last year. Looking forward, as always to being together.
WORLD DAY OF PRAYER: The service will be held in St. Leonards Church Ayr on Friday 6th March 2015 at 2.00pm. The worship has been prepared by the women of the Bahamas and the theme is Jesus said to them, “Do you know what I have done for you?”
AYR FORT PLAYERS: some of our members are appearing in the upcoming production – “No sex please, we’re British” in the Gaiety Theatre from Wednesday 18th – Saturday 21st March. Tickets are available at the Gaiety Box Office.

The service of thanksgiving for the life of Mrs Catherine Overdijking-Gilmour who died at home in the Loaning last week will be held here in the Church on Tuesday 3rd March at 12.15p.m., followed by the committal at Masonhill at 1.15p.m. Our warm condolences are extended to her sons Frederik and John and their families. Our sincerest sympathy is extended to Mr Jim Wilcox of Ailsa View Park, and the family, on the sudden death of his son, David, aged 51, whilst on holiday in Italy.
We record with sadness the passing of Mrs. Winnie Alexander, formerly of Willow Park, and lately of Windyhall Care Home.
Our heartiest congratulations to Mr Jim and Mrs Beth Golby of Castlehill Road who celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversary this past week.
