20’s IN THE PEWS: The total collected in March was £103.02. This year monies will go to The Beatson Cancer Charity. This Charity has been established fairly recently and provides support services for patients and families involved with the Beatson.
LIFE & WORK: Pre-ordered copies of the April edition are available for uplifting at the main door of the Church. There are extra copies available at both doors priced £2.00.
FOOD BANK: Foods most needed at the moment are milk, fruit juice, tinned or packet meals, small packets of rice, sachets of instant mash, coffee and jam. Thank you for all your support.
THE LUNCHEON CLUB summer outing on 8th May 2015 Departing Church 9.00 am will visit Abbotsford Centre & Café with an optional (extra) Guided Tour of Mansion House and on to High Tea at the Tontine Hotel, Peebles. BOSWELL BOOK FESTIVAL: This prestigious event will be held at Dumfries House from 8th – 10th May, when a plethora of superb writers, journalists and broadcasters will be participating in the Festival, including Joanna Lumley, Ian Rankine, the Duke of Wellington and many, many more.
SOUP LUNCH: A very big “THANK YOU!” to everyone who helped, baked, made soup, attended and donated in any way to Alan’s Fund raiser. The Amazing folks of Ayr St. Columba raised £1100. Well done!
SCOUT COFFEE MORNING: will be held in the Church Hall on Saturday 9th June 10 – 12 noon. Tickets, priced £2.50 for adults and £1.00 for children, will be available at the Church door after each service.
WEDNESDAY EVENING BIBLE STUDY will meet on 29 April at 7.30pm in the Struthers Room, when our focus will be Mark 16, vv.1-8. We’ll discuss Mark’s ‘lost’ ending and explore the significance of ‘resurrection’ for us today. Tea and biscuits provided.
THE BOOK CLUB next meets on Monday 11 May at 2pm in the New Carrick Room, when we will be discussing ‘Where Memories Go’ by Sally Magnusson. All welcome!
