20’s IN THE PEWS: The total collected in June was £102.17, which included an anonymous donation of £50.00. The Kirk Session has decided to donate funds raised this year to support the work of Combat Stress at Hollybush House, Ayr

VOLUNTEERS requested at 10 am on Saturday 9th July, to assist our Church Officer, John Stewart, to spread new chips around the Church. Please bring a rake and a shovel!

PROJECT 5000 – Holiday Hunger Project 5000 began on Thursday offering free lunches to those children in the Lochside area who are entitled to free school meals or referred to us by partners. This hugely worthwhile project is running every weekday throughout the holidays until 17th August. We have been provided with donations and volunteers to carry out this work, but there are still opportunities to become involved. If you are interested in helping to make sandwiches (and have a hygiene certificate) or handing out the packed lunches then please get in touch on 286981. We are also still looking for more juice cups, crisps, and regular supplies of fruit.

FOODBANK: Most needed at Foodbank this week are tins or packets of custard, rice pudding, packets of rice, coffee, jam, long life milk, diluting juice, biscuits. Thank you for your continued support.

“OASIS”: Drop in cafe, Struthers’ Room this Thursday 10.30 – 12.00. A place to relax, a place to chat, bring a friend! Come when you can, leave when you want. Morning papers available. A team of volunteers has been secured to allow the Café to continue during the summer months.

SUMMER EVENTS: Summer Games on Ayr Beach (beside Blackburn car park): 1 – 5 Aug.11am-3pm
Olympic Games Sleepover for teenagers:Friday 5 Aug at 7pm for games and fellowship, watch the opening ceremony on the big screen, sleepover, then enjoy an Olympic Breakfast
“On Your Marks” Kids Holiday Club ages 4+ 8 – 12 Aug, 10 am – 12 noon in Church Halls.
Volunteers to assis with any of these events will be made most welcome.

FRASER’S 25TH ANNIVERSARY LUNCH: Sunday 21st August. Due to overwhelming demand, the Lunch will now be held in the stunning setting of The Paddock Lawn Pavilion at Western House Hotel. The cost will be £26. A list, which closes today, is available in the Carrick Park Vestibule.

CONGRATULATIONS to one of our young folk, Innes Reid, on becoming Head Boy at Belmont Academy.

THANKS from Mrs Daisy Milne to the Minister, Guild and all her friends for the lovely flowers and cards received on the occasion of her 90th birthday. They were greatly appreciated.

Our warmest sympathy is extended to the family of Mr Ronald Brash, one of our senior elders, who died this past week in Windyhall Nursing Home. The funeral service will be held in the Church on Friday 8th July at 10.15, followed by a service of committal at the Crematoriam at 11.15.
