COVID – 19 the Church is mindful of the advice and directives being issued by the Church of Scotland and the Government – there is no prohibition on shaking hands at the door, though people may choose to avoid doing so. This is a fluid situation and changes may occur with this advice as the impact of the virus deepens. Antibacterial soap is available for handwashing; sanitisers were ordered in February but have not been delivered and local sanitiser is impossible to source. Please follow the advice you are hearing on the news.
20’s IN THE PEWS: The total collected in February was £62.59. Recipient will be announced soon.
9.30am FAMILY SERVICE: Following several months of consultation, the Kirk Session unanimously supports changes to the format of the early service. In an attempt to evolve the early service into one which is more suited to younger members of the congregation, the format will change in the weeks following Easter for a trial period until the end of June. Like the Kirk Session, the Sunday school staff are also very supportive of proposed changes. The broad idea is that the first 20 minutes of the service will be more explicitly for children and younger members. After 20 minutes, the children will continue their worship and education at St Columba Kids. The remainder of the early service will be suited to adults and the many members who value and regularly attend the early service, with the service ending by 10.10am. There will be an opportunity for the parents of young children to enjoy a coffee together while they wait for the Sunday School to end at 10.30am. May I encourage members to support these changes as we find our way forward. Many thanks. Scott
