WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON COMMUNION SERVICE will be held in the Centenary Aisle on Wednesday 26th October at 2.00p.m., followed by tea in the Struthers’ Room.
ELDERS – PLEASE check the Communion List in the Carrick Park vestibule and sign to indicate that you have read the notice. ALSO Elders are asked to uplift their COMMUNION INVITATIONS and copies of the Columba News today for immediate delivery ahead of Communion next Sunday.
20’s IN THE PEWS: 20s for September – the total is £73.95 The Kirk Session has decided to donate funds raised this year to support the work of Combat Stress at Hollybush House, Ayr.
LIFE & WORK: Pre-ordered copies of the October edition are available for uplifting at the main door of the Church. There are extra copies available at both doors priced £2.20.
TIME TO REMEMBER SERVICE: will be held in the Centenary Aisle on Sunday 6th November at 4p.m. There will be a short act of worship, remembering loved ones who have died. This service will be designed specifically for reflection and prayer, with short readings and times for quiet meditation. You will have the chance to light a candle to remember someone dear.

GUILD: Our next meeting is Monday 24 October and it is our first afternoon meeting at 2 p.m. in Midton Road Hall. We are looking forward to welcoming Phil McAnespie who will talk about Honeybees and we hope he will bring some honey too! Everyone will be made most welcome
FOODBANK: Thank you for your continued support. All foods are very gratefully accepted – long life milk, diluting juice, tinned meals, tinned vegetables, tins of fruit, jars of coffee and jam, packets instant mash, packets of custard, rice, spaghetti and noodles are most needed!
“OASIS”: Drop in cafe, Struthers’ Room this Thursday 10.30 – 12.00. This is a place to relax, a place to chat, bring a friend! Come when you can, leave when you want. The morning papers are available.
CHRISTIANITY EXPLORED – Every Wednesday at 7pm for 7 weeks, from 19 October to 30 November in the Centenary Aisle. The night commences with a cup of tea, followed by a short film that introduces the topic and then discussion groups, allowing you to explore faith, doubt and any questions you may have in a relaxed and non-threatening environment. Please let Graeme or Irene know if you intend to come along.
CHRISTMAS LUNCH: Congregational Christmas Lunch at Enterkine House Hotel on Sunday 11th December, please add your name to the List in the Carrick Park Vestibule. Two courses, coffee and mince pies, £22.00 and a glass of bubbly on arrival. There is also a list for the coach, if you plan to travel by bus.

The funeral service for Mr. Allan Walker of Robsland Avenue, who died suddenly on holiday in Spain, took place yesterday morning at Masonhill. Our warmest sympathy is extended to his wife, Aileen and all the family.
