GOOD NEWS: The new kitchen has been installed at Ayr St Columba Lochside. Many thanks to our Church Officer John and the joiner Derek Moore who carried out this work and to Michael who has undertaken the redecoration – well done gents! We are extremely grateful to the Lochside Neighbourhood Group who have very kindly donated £400 to equip the kitchen with utensils, crockery etc to support the work done by our volunteers in serving the community with the Tuesday Breakfast Club and the Thursday Lunch group. Thank you all so much. It will be well worth a visit when we are able to reopen our doors.

CHURCH GOING FORWARD – Discussions by phone and by email, involving the Minister and the Review & Planning Committee members, have been taking place regarding the Government’s Routemap out of the current restrictions. The welfare of our members has been at the centre of these discussions and it is recognised that we will need detailed guidance from the Scottish Government and from the Committee set up by The Church of Scotland before we can make decisions regarding the opening of the Church doors for any form of worship. Thought is being given to various aspects which are likely to be involved and we will provide further information when this is available. Bob Bartholomew, Session Clerk.

OFFERINGS: During this time when the Church building is closed, members may be considering how they can continue to give offerings to the Church. Information on this is available on the Church website https://ayrstcolumba.co.uk/options-for-offerings/ This link will take you directly to the page. Alternatively, you can contact the Treasurer (01292 443271), the Session Clerk or the Church Secretary (both at 01292 265794).

FOOD BANK: Please remember that the need for donations of all basic foods is even more urgent during this crisis. If you go to the Church website or FB page you will find details of places where food can still dropped off.

20’s IN THE PEWS: Please continue to save your 20’s – we will provide a very large collecting jar when we all return to Church.

DAILY PRAYING   May I recommend the website pray-as-you-go.org which offers a daily 10 minute reflection with music, Scripture and help with sensitive praying.    It will help you reflect on the day.  You can listen first thing in the morning, during the day or towards last thing at night.  Often, I find them very peaceful, though they differ each day.     Scott
